At Price Western, our mission has always been to offer goods fit-for-purpose that will serve you day after day. We couldn’t help but be touched by this email from one customer in particular, Steve, whose story really struck a chord..

“I would like to relate to you a short tale of friendship and resilience.

Way back in the mid-90s, I used to help out my old friend Merlin on his clothing stall at bike rallies and fairs.

Most of his stock was cheap and cheerful imported stuff with a bit of army surplus thrown in – just the ticket for the usual clientele at these events.

One day however, He decided to go upmarket and buy some real quality goods. He knew of Price Western from his time in the police force and so invested in a few of your excellent leather belts.

Unfortunately, despite the superiority of the product and the very reasonable mark-up, the punters found them too expensive and preferred to stick with the cheaper wares.

At the end of a long season, two of the belts remained unsold. As we packed the stall away for the winter, Merlin turned to me and said, “I have misjudged the market with these belts and cast pearls before swine. It seems it is only you and I who appreciate true quality and workmanship. We will have these last two for ourselves and they will probably outlast us.”

He was nearly right too. My dear old pal was buried in his belt 10 years ago and I have worn mine every day for the last 30 years.

However, I have somehow been lucky enough to outlive even a Price Western belt and today mine finally broke. I will keep the battered and modified buckle in honour of my old friend but I would like to buy a new belt to fit it.

We regularly receive similar stories, but thank you Steve for this wonderfully written letter!.
